What is Mindfulness?

Mindfulness in its essence is awareness training. It is a meditation based training that helps us become more conscious of our inner world and the way we respond to our environment. We all experience  moments of stress and anxiety, that’s part of life. Often, in these moments, our natural reactivity (‘fight or flight’) takes control and we feel we have no longer a choice, leading to feelings of being overwhelmed, anxiety, nervousness, not being able to focus, …

Over time, with guidance and regular training, it is possible to become more conscious of what is happening to us in these difficult moments. That is when we start realizing we are no longer completely overwhelmed, we feel we can recover faster and  start to live with more moments of personal choice, ease, focus and growth.
